Here's a recipe for traditional shakshuka: Ingredients: 1 onion, diced. 2 garlic cloves, minced. 1 red bell pepper, diced. 2 cans (14.5 oz each) of diced tomatoes 1 tablespoon tomato paste 1 teaspoon cumin 1 teaspoon paprika 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper Salt and pepper, to taste. 6 eggs Fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped (for garnish) Instructions: In a large skillet or cast-iron pan, heat 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until soft and translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Add the minced garlic and diced red bell pepper to the skillet and continue to sauté until the pepper has softened, about 5-7 more minutes.
